Katy Perry has been receiving massive pushback since taking off on the Blue Origin space mission and embarking on her world tour, with many of her fans hypothesizing that the chaotic nature of the show is due to show organizers pulling the plug on elements referencing the flight at the last minute to avoid further scrutiny.
Former fans took to TikTok to compare Katy’s Lifetimes Tour to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, noting how the names were similar and Katy’s opening monologue was déjà vu-inducing.
One content creator went as far as to share side-by-side footage of Katy and Taylor’s tours and claim: ‘Watch Katy plagiarize Taylor’s entire Eras speech and concept.’
The Swiftie fan account quickly went viral after saying, ‘even just the voice and arm movements she did for “welcome to Lifetimes” are the same.’
A Swiftie dubbed Katy’s controversial concerts ‘The Eras Tour TV (Temu Version).’
The constant comparisons didn’t end there, as other people called Katy, 40, out for emulating P!nk, 45, Beyoncé, 43, Sabrina Carpenter, 25, and Olivia Rodrigo, 22.
A social media critic summed it up by saying: ‘I don’t even care if she’s taking inspiration it’s the fact that’s it’s done BADLY and all at once.’

Fans also pointed out major similarities to P!nk, who famously incorporates acrobatics in her tours.
The mom of one, who shares daughter Daisy with fiancé Orlando Bloom, has caught fire for flipping through the air, which is P!nk’s signature move.
P!nk has been performing aerial moves since the early 2000s, and still sings during her flight, while the Roar hitmaker stops singing entirely.
P!nk was was inspired to add acrobatics into her tour after seeing Cher’s Farewell Tour, proving that even she was inspired by another pop star.
Viral footage shows Katy riding above the crowd on an elaborate silver butterfly, which people compared to the dramatic moment when Olivia Rodrigo was lifted on a purple moon while singing.
Katy’s performance also garnered comparisons to Sabrina Carpenter’s Short ‘n Sweet Tour, because she spins a wheel to choose a surprise song to perform.
The surprise song concept was introduced by Taylor, who played different songs nightly while on the Eras Tour during an acoustic set. Katy’s tour has a ‘choose your own adventure’ segment of requests to fulfill the surprise aspect.

While many musicians gain inspiration from others, some commenters thought the similarities were not coincidental.
One commenter accused Katy of ‘reheating EVERYBODY’S nachos,’ or using their leftovers as inspiration.
‘Ok but why did she use EVERYTHING, kind of overstimulating,’ another person complained.
However, plenty of people were ready to rush to her defense, with one person explaining, ‘no like the others are crazy but flying around the stadium/arena is NOT an original thing from anyone. loads of people do it.’
Another music fan agreed, ‘none of these things are unique to these artists.’
One KatyCat, as her fans are called, announced: ‘Have you never seen her onstage? She’s been doing this since 2008.’
‘The moment you realize she’s actually been doing all of those things before everyone,’ another person said.
