Taylor Swift fans have been sent into meltdown over an image of the superstar in the upcoming Wicked movie – but all is not as it seems.
The post, which coincided with the release of the new trailer, showed the Grammy Award winner, 35, dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz.
‘First look at Dorothy, who will be played by Taylor Swift in WICKED: FOR GOOD,’ the X (formerly Twitter) thread began.
In it, Taylor boasted the character’s classic braids tied with blue bows as well as her signature checkered blue dress.
A glimpse of the Emerald City could be spotted in the background – complete with the classic yellow brick road.
The image sent shockwaves through Taylor’s fandom as one wrote: ‘I mean why not? She can do it.’
‘OMGG this is why she didn’t do the re-recordings of reputation because she’s filming Wicked: For Good,’ another shared.

Wicked: For Good is set to hit cinemas on November 21 – about a year after the first movie.
This isn’t the first time Swifties were fooled by a convincing picture this week.
Taylor fans convinced themselves that the pop star was pregnant thanks to an optical illusion.
The rumor mill went into overdrive after she stepped out in New York with what appeared to be a pregnant belly on display.
‘She’s eight months pregnant,’ wrote one fan on X, while another posted, ‘Taylor appears pregnant in New York!’
However, upon closer inspection, it was clear that Swift’s black mini-dress had blended into a black car in the background, which made it look like she had a large baby bump.
